WildmooBooks Turns Six! Celebrates with Edgar Nominees Giveaway

WildmooBooks turns six today!

How time flies. I still feel like such a newbie.

This is the first year I’ve made the connection that January 19th is also Edgar Allan Poe’s birthday (he was born in 1809) and also the day that the Mystery Writers of America announces its annual nominees for The Edgar Awards (named, if you didn’t know, after Edgar Allan Poe).

To celebrate these occasions and as a thank you to all who’ve connected with me here over the years, I thought it would be fun to offer a giveaway.

Below is a list of nominees for five of the Edgar Award categories. The winner of this giveaway will get to choose one book from the list below, up to $25.

Price and availability to be established via bookdepository.com. At the time of this post going live there is only one title listed over $25 (Meanwhile There Are Letters: The Correspondence of Eudora Welty and Ross Macdonald by Suzanne Marrs and Tom Nolan) and one that is not available (American Pain: How a Young Felon and his Ring of Doctors Unleashed America’s Deadliest Drug Epidemic by John Temple). Pricing and availability can change in a week.

Please enter below via Rafflecopter and leave a comment with which title(s) you’re most excited to see on this list and/or which you’d most like to read.

  1. Wow! First, happy blog birthday! Also this is a very generous giveaway that you're offering. How fitting, that it should fit in with EAP's birthday too. A friend of mine read American Pain and said it was wonderful, so I guess that's the one I'm most interested in.

  3. Happy blog birthday! I love your blog and this is such a wonderful giveaway. It was so difficult to even narrow it down to a FEW books (I have several of these, but it was STILL hard). I think the one I most want is The Strangler Vine. Thank you again for offering such a great giveaway.

  4. Happy sixth blogiversary, Chris! The books I would most consider reading are The Long and Faraway Gone by Lou Berney or Goldeneye: Where Bond Was Born: Ian Fleming’s Jamaica by Matthew Parker, because I recently read a biography of a man who had an interesting connection with Mr. Fleming. And also, the setting of Jamaica- I don't know much about it.

P.S. If you feel like a newbie, I guess there's no hope for the rest of us. 😉

  5. Thanks, Litha! Goldeneye sounds interesting to me, too. I don't know much at all about Fleming and enjoy learning about the importance of place to an author. Regarding the newbie comment–I've always been a bit on the laid-back side about blogging and it's shocking that six years have already passed!

  6. Happy anniversary! This sure is an exceptional giveaway opportunity; thank you! So many of these works are on my to-read list. Among the fiction titles, The Sympathizer is probably the one I am looking forward to most, and for non-fiction, I am most excited about Operation Nemesis and American Pain. Once again, I commend you on your continued success with your blog. Cheers, Kara S
